Nga waka time!

Learning intention: WALT sing a waiata and learn about the Maori culture.
I know I can do this when I understand the translations of Nga Waka.

Have you ever been to the park before?

In the weekend my friend,brother and sister and I were playing outside.My little sister,friend and I
had a handstand competition. My older brother and sister were playing tag and my older brother was the tagger. After we played for a bit my friend and I went to her house because it was just next door.

When we got to her house we went inside a big garage.I asked my little sister if she wanted to play with us at my friends house and she said "Yes".When she came over I asked my friend and my little sister if would like to play shopping. They both said "Yes" at the same time.

My friend was the shop keeper.We used lids and paper as our money.Then we got bored so we asked our older brother and sister if they would like to play hide and down go seek and they said "Yes".I wanted to count so I went to the back yard and started counting down.

When I finished counting down, I went to look for them. I found my friend first,then my older sister then my older brother and I found little sister last. Then my mum called our names for us to go inside and have dinner.We had fish and chips. I felt thirsty so I drank water.After that I went to have a shower because I was sweaty. When I finished having a shower,I got changed and then I went to bed because I was tired.

I would like to play a different game next time because the games that we played weren't very interesting.

Learning intention: We are learning to use the structure of a recount correctly. 
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I write the orientation, followed by the body and then the conclusion.

Going to the Beach!

In the holidays, I went to the beach with my family. When we got to the beach we wanted to play on the park first. I played on the slide and it was so much fun. Then my dad took my mum home because it was raining. My dad said that we needed to wait at the beach until he comes back.

When my dad came back, he told us  to swim some more. When  we got in the water, my dad
and I went to the deep end. It was very deep so hopped on my dad's back because I felt
scared.

Then it was time to go home. I had a fun time at the beach. Next time, I would like to go to a different
beach.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Manaiakalani Film Festival

On Wednesday 12th of November St Patricks school went on two buses to the Manaiakalani Film Festival. There were a lot of St Patricks children. It took a long time for us to get there. I nearly fell a sleep.

When we got to Sylvia Park we went inside the theatre. We all had a seat to sit on. When we all sat down a man told us to sit back and relax and told us to enjoy the movies.

I was tired of watching the movies. Then it was Room 5's turn to show their movie on the big screen. Our movie was called Magic students. I loved the part when Mrs Richardson turned into a big fat toad. It wasn’t a real toad it was just a picture.

I also loved the part when we all turned into tadpoles. That was a picture too. When it was Room 8’s turn to show their Manaiakalani film on the big screen I just sat back and watched their movies. Some of them were funny. I like Room 8's movie because when Kolio's tooth came out of his mouth I started to laugh.

When all the movies were finished we all came

out so the next school could watch their movies.

Finally it was finished I had fun going to the Manaiakalani Film Festival.
