  • They poured water over the whales to keep them alive.
  • The local people placed a lot of towels over the whales to keep them wet at all times.
  • Most whales were able to make it into the water because the local people were able to drag or push them into the water.

Bonus:

Should fishermen be banned(stopped)?
  • Yes, fishermen should be banned from Farewell Spit because if the whales are being killed everyday by fishermen’s net, then they will end up in extinction.
  • Yes, because there will be less wales in New Zealand.

  2. Hi Rhonda,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Day 4 activities. I really enjoyed reading about what happened with the Whales. It brings so much memories when I saw them all over the news. There were so many people trying to save them and help get them back into the waters but unfortunately, some did not survive which was really sad to watch. As Luisa mentioned, I also enjoyed reading your reasons about Fishermen being banned from Farewell spit. It's great to see that you are expressing your own personal opinion. I'm so proud of you!

Keep up the good work Rhonda!

    Best wishes,

    Jacinta
