New Zealand by Land and Sea

Day 2
Activity one: Three places I enjoyed/Why?:

  • I mostly enjoyed driving past Rangitoto because you can see birds flying and ships passing by very slowly.
  • I enjoy sitting on Karekare beach feeling so relieved and calm as I hear the waves crash onto the shore.
  • Last but not least, my family and I got to take a quiet walk at Tane Mahuta.
Dear Diary,
I had the most amazing time of my life exploring beaches, forests and much more. But, most of all driving past Rangitoto was even better because they're a lot things to experience.

Activity two: My Interview questions with Laura:

  • How old were you when you began sailing?
  • What else do you do apart from sailing?
  • Who encouraged you to sail around the world?
  • Is sailing important to you?
  • Was there a reason you went sailing by yourself?

Bonus: 5 activity’s one of my family member enjoys in the outdoor:

  • Visiting the Matariki light trail in Glen Innes, Auckland.
  • Enjoys playing at the park with his mates.
  • Going for swims at the beach.
  • Going on long walks on the beach.
  • Visiting relatives.

  1. Kia Orana Rhonda,

My name is Jacinta and I am excited to say that I will be blogging with you through the Winter Learning Journey.

I am very pleased to see that you have put in good effort to get started on your Day 2 activities. Your diary entry allowed me to understand a little bit of your experience at the Rangitoto Island. What was spectacular about Rangitoto? What made this experience different to visiting Karekare beach and Tane Mahuta? I would really love to see how these places differ from each other and understand more about why your selected experience was so amazing.

For activity 2, you have created questions that simplify answers from the video clip. Is there more information you would like to know about Laura? for example, goals or struggles she experienced through her journey or perhaps places she had visited along the way. Generating questions can be quite challenging, but I strongly believe you will connect well with Laura by understanding her experiences and journey.

I must say, I have never visited the Matariki light trail in Glen Innes, so I am planning to take my daughter for a visit during the School holidays.

    Keep up the good work!

    Cheers,

    Jacinta
