Do you think blowing bubbles is boring?

Today was technicraft at Pakuranga Intermediate School.

In our science class, we were investigating the duration a bubble could last before bursting. Each table (consisting of between two to four students, were given five cups each one

containing the following:water, soap, salt, glucose, glycerine detergent and sugar.

Our instructions were to combine the above items together into one cup. Following this, then we had to blow a bubble and time how long the bubble lasted. We tried this three times and the longest bubble lasted 3 minutes. I had a great time going to science class.

Next time I hope we do more experiences because it was fun.

Do you think science is fun or boring?

Today Room 8 and I went to Pakuranga intermediate school for technicraft. The year 7’s were in science class while the year 8’s were in cooking class. Today we were investigating and learning about bubbles.

We were all given a worksheet to write down our hypothesis. Miss Gawith our science teacher, gave each table some straws, one or two containers and some water. Miss Gawith mixed up some sugar and soap together to make the bubble stronger. After that she poured all of the solution into each container.

Then we had to rub some onto the table. We grabbed our straws then we blew it onto the table to see if a bubble appeared and it did. After that, we were told to blow the bubble onto the table again and blow another bubble inside the first bubble and we kept going.

After that it was time to clean everything up and leave Pakuranga intermediate school. I had a great time going to technicraft with room 8.

My favourite part of the day is when we blew the bubbles because it was fun.

Pets are animals that could be trained or used as a friend. Some pets are small and some are big.

Pets like dogs could be used as protection if you're going to get hurt by someone. Some dogs could also save people in fires or used for blind people to take them to places where they want to go.

Some dogs are big and some dogs are small. All dogs must be exercised or they won’t be fit. Dogs that have long fur, needs to be brushed everyday, but dogs that have short fur doesn't have to brushed.

Most dogs are farm dogs, some save people and some are just used for a pet or a friend. Dogs chase their tail for reasons. They chase it to exercise or they chase it because they have fleas on their tail.

Learning intention: We are reviewing the structure of an explanation.

Today I met Cheska, she is 11 years old and she is close to nature. Her favourite colours are dark colours and she likes swimming and plays the piano as a hobby.

Hi my name is Rhonda and I'm a 11 year old girl and I like to go to school. I'm a year 7 and my favourite subjects are reading and writing and my favourite colour is blue.
