  • They poured water over the whales to keep them alive.
  • The local people placed a lot of towels over the whales to keep them wet at all times.
  • Most whales were able to make it into the water because the local people were able to drag or push them into the water.

Bonus:

Should fishermen be banned(stopped)?
  • Yes, fishermen should be banned from Farewell Spit because if the whales are being killed everyday by fishermen’s net, then they will end up in extinction.

Wild Eyes!

Day 3
Activity one: Choose an animal to adopt/Explain a little bit about them:

The animal I Chose was a tuatara.
About them:
  • Tuatara are reptiles.
  • Tuatara eats other insects and bugs.
  • They normally live in small dark caves in forests and they are used to the warm temperature.

Activity two: Why we should or not kill all predators (Possums)?
I agree that possums should be taken away because if the possums destroys all the trees in New Zealand, then there won’t be any left. But, I still think that they shouldn’t be killed, instead they should be trapped and taken away.

Bonus:

Wow! I just found an egg that belongs to a large bird!

New Zealand by Land and Sea

Day 2
Activity one: Three places I enjoyed/Why?:

  • I mostly enjoyed driving past Rangitoto because you can see birds flying and ships passing by very slowly.
  • I enjoy sitting on Karekare beach feeling so relieved and calm as I hear the waves crash onto the shore.
  • Last but not least, my family and I got to take a quiet walk at Tane Mahuta.
Dear Diary,
I had the most amazing time of my life exploring beaches, forests and much more. But, most of all driving past Rangitoto was even better because they're a lot things to experience.

Activity two: My Interview questions with Laura:

  • How old were you when you began sailing?
  • What else do you do apart from sailing?
  • Who encouraged you to sail around the world?
  • Is sailing important to you?
  • Was there a reason you went sailing by yourself?

Bonus: 5 activity’s one of my family member enjoys in the outdoor:

  • Visiting the Matariki light trail in Glen Innes, Auckland.
  • Enjoys playing at the park with his mates.
